Then a couple Sundays ago at our annual Chili fest potluck, we used everyone&#8217;s bricks to build a life sized (well, maybe a bit smaller) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ecosanres.org\/toilets_that_make_compost.htm\">EcoSan Latrine<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I have to say that ever since having joined <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newhopechurch.ca\/page.php?pgid=ministrypage&amp;itemid=10\">Ubuntu<\/a> about two years ago, I have been impressed at how intentional the group has been in:<\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;\">\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>honouring the people of Kamenzi<\/li>\n<li>maintaining the relationships formed in 2009 when we sent a small delegation to Malawi<\/li>\n<li>allowing the community in Malawi to manage the development<\/li>\n<li>communicate the needs of the Kamenzi communities to our church<\/li>\n<li>raising funds for the projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<a href=\"http:\/\/zaakistan.com\/photos\/blog7\/bricks3.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/zaakistan.com\/photos\/blog7\/bricks3.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">\nThe Ecosan Latrine provides a two-fold benefit to a household in Malawi. First, it improves sanitation by reducing risk of air and waterborn disease as it properly disposes of waste matter.
