Anyway, here is my list:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>7. Fantastic Mr. Fox<\/b> : both classic Roald Dahl and Wes Anderson<\/div>\n<div><b>6. 500 Days of Summer<\/b> : great comedy and hip pathos<\/div>\n<div><b>5. The Informant!<\/b> : superb inner dialogue with a sensational plot twist<\/div>\n<div><b>4. District 9<\/b> : witty, gritty and original alien movie<\/div>\n<div><b>3. The Road<\/b> : one of the best book adaptations I&#8217;ve seen<\/div>\n<div><b>2. Up in the Air<\/b> : a grounding picture for our culture<\/div>\n<div><b>1. Where the Wild Things Are<\/b> : visually stunning and emotionally draining<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Some that I am still looking forward to seeing: <strike>A Single Man<\/strike>, <strike>A Serious Man<\/strike>, <strike>The Lovely Bones<\/strike>, <strike>The Hurt Locker<\/strike>, <strike>Nine<\/strike>, <strike>Crazy Heart<\/strike>, Brothers, <strike>An Education<\/strike>, Invictus, Taking Woodstock, <strike>Coco Avant Chanel<\/strike>, and <strike>Amreeka<\/strike>.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Considering I only saw 16 movies that were released in 2009, my pool of top movies is smaller than I wish &#8211; especially concerning foreign language films (which are often released later locally).
