34. Sheer Sheep

11Great many thanks go to Mark and his father, John, for their invitation and accomodation. This is a mundane part of their farm chores in spring and they were able to delay the shearing a couple days until I was able to come out to their farm.

After sheared my own sheep, I am in awe of those New Zealanders and Australians who can shear them in less than a minute. It is not easy work. The sheep bleat and they are not the most cooperative animals. The sheep I sheared was a hairy sheep, so it was not wool that I cut. The hair was a bit greasy and very thick.
