I&#8217;ve been off work for 11 days now. I still have 5 left.<\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\nI was kind of envious of some of my colleagues and students who left for California, Arizona, China, Guatemala, Vancouver, Germany, London, Qu\u00e9bec, etc. while I stayed at home in cold Calgary. But I&#8217;m really glad I&#8217;m home!<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>I hit the bottle depot.<\/li>\n<li>I went to a friend&#8217;s talk on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nuclearfreealberta.ca\/v2\/index.php?option=com_content&amp;view=frontpage&amp;Itemid=1\">sustainable and energy efficient building<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>I went to the doctor.<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m half way through a novel by Douglas Coupland.<\/li>\n<li>I went for tea* with a friend.<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;ve spent hours on my latest documentary, completing the script and rough edit and I even got a famous singer to do a song for the film.<\/li>\n<li>I helped plan a <a href=\"http:\/\/caraluftubuntu.eventbrite.com\/\">benefit concert<\/a> for Ubuntu.<\/li>\n<li>I spent a couple hours at a pro recording studio owned by a friend to record some of the narration for my movie.<\/li>\n<li>I cleaned out a couple drawers.<\/li>\n<li>I wrote 12 posts for my <a href=\"http:\/\/zaakwatchesmovies.blogspot.com\/\">movie blog<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>I built snowmen with the kids (and pelted them with snowballs, the snowmen and the kids!)<\/li>\n<li>I went to church a couple of times.<\/li>\n<li>I did a dozen crossword and sudoku puzzles.<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m going to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tyrrellmuseum.com\/\">Royal Tyrell Museum<\/a> in Drumheller tomorrow (the kids are overthetop excited about this).<\/li>\n<li>I spent a wonderful night at some friends house for dinner and playing games.<\/li>\n<li>I spent some time on the project manager search for <a href=\"http:\/\/dragonflycohousing.ca\/\">cohousing<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m going to a movie this afternoon with Amber.<\/li>\n<li>We&#8217;re taking the kids to <a href=\"http:\/\/ag.calgarystampede.com\/events\/aggie-days\/\">Aggie Days<\/a> (Agricultural Days in Calgary) later this week.<\/li>\n<li>We had some friends over for supper.<\/li>\n<li>I watched 5 movies so far.<\/li>\n<li>I shovelled our parking spots, twice.<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m doing an info session for cohousing in a couple nights.<\/li>\n<li>I attended a cohousing general meeting (and I have another on Sunday).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\nI&#8217;m happy I stayed because almost none of this would have happened if we had gone on a trip (plus we&#8217;d be a couple grand poorer too!).<\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n*I gave up coffee for lent. \ud83d\ude09<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s Tuesday.
